Much of the work documented on this site is dangerous:

• Electric/electronic devices often connect directly to mains power (120/220VAC).
• Nixie and neon displays need 170VDC or more.
• Power supply components such as filter capacitors often hold a charge long after the supply has been removed.
• Older devices can contain toxic materials like mercury, asbestos, beryllium oxide, or radium paint.
• Mechanical parts can be under extreme tension from springs or weights.
• Lithium cells can vent and burn.
